Fos Cavaou: start of the binding phase of the open season
Elengy and its subsidiary Fosmax LNG are committed to promoting the access to the European natural gas markets through LNG infrastructures. Fosmax LNG launched in March 2021 a call for capacity subscriptions at Fos Cavaou LNG terminal (“Open Season Fos Cavaou 2021”).
The Open Season Fos Cavaou 2021 was initiated in response to a high level of market interest, and aims to make available additional primary capacity achieved through technical & regulatory debottlenecking, as well as capacity extension beyond 2030 until 2045 or more.
After the success of the non-binding call for interest, a primary capacity of 2.5 Bcm per year from January 2025 onwards is made available within the frame of the Open Season Fos Cavaou 2021. A subscription window for the binding commitments of the parties will be held in September 2022.
Open Season Fos Cavaou 2021 offers a very attractive opportunity for shippers looking to secure unloading, loading and multimodal LNG capacities with a major operator, whilst enjoying a strategic location on the Mediterranean coast in an isolated dock within the industrial area of the Port of Marseille-Fos.
Fos Cavaou, at the crossroads of maritime routes and major gas infrastructures, offers a privileged access to all European gas markets and the small-scale potential in a key Mediterranean location.
