Unloading and send-out
An historic player in LNG reception and regasification, Elengy has received nearly 10,000 cargoes and more than 300 different LNG carriers, accounting for around half of the world’s fleet, at its Montoir-de-Bretagne, Fos Tonkin and Fos Cavaou terminals. Services are carried out under the most stringent safety conditions.
About our unloading services
We receive previously approved vessels carrying all-sized cargoes: an Elengy specificity that ensures greater flexibility in operational rescheduling of deliveries. This tailor-made approach is also applied to the regasification service: Elengy’s offering is accessible by all shippers from the very first unloading operation, at any time and regardless of the registered quantity.

The service offering
Our main service includes the receiving of LNG cargoes, unloading, storage and regasification. These different services make LNG more accessible. They foster the development of a clean source of energy.
Within the framework of our offering, we provide our clients with significant flexibility having registered for at least one unloading operation:
Flexibility in time
Our shipper clients can modify their unloading schedule at any time, whether this be the name or the size of the ship, its date of arrival, the LNG’s quality, etc.
Geographical flexibility
Our clients who have not used all their capacities in the one of the three regulated French terminals may access another regulated terminal on favourable terms during the same month.
Dedicated storage
At our Montoir-de-Bretagne and Fos Cavaou terminals, our shipper clients have their own LNG storage space that can be used, for example, at a later date or to modify their send-out profile.
Send-out flexibility
The shipper can modify its forecasted send-out’s profile, at a weekly or daily pace.
Zero LNG send-outs
Our Montoir-de-Bretagne terminal is fitted with compression equipment allowing the introduction of BOG (boil off gas) into the transport network at no extra cost.
Available options
- Uniform send-out option: With this option, each cargo is sent out with a uniform daily quantity over a period of twenty to forty days from the date at which unloading was finished.
- Monthly dedicated storage: possibility to book dedicated additional storage space on a monthly basis.
Secondary market
Elengy allows you to sell all or part of your rights and obligations to a third party: this is called the secondary market. Its purpose? Allow even quicker access to our offering. To make life easier for you we publish a list of interested parties on our website. Trading then occurs for both parties within a stringent and transparent framework via the signature of a new contract giving access to the terminal or via an amendment to a contract.
Access Contract to our LNG carrier terminals
The Terminal Access Contract specifies Elengy’s undertakings in terms of:
- Receiving ships sent by the shipper up to the terminal’s landing stage.
- Unloading or reloading of ships.
- Storage of unloaded LNG.
- Regasification of LNG and transfer to the network.
- Allow trading of stored LNG quantities for shippers who wish to do this.
LNG carrier approval
Ship approval is carried out by Elengy in accordance with Annex 2 of the Terminal Access Contract, with the Ship Approval Procedure and with the Pre-Acceptance Questionnaire:
Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH) was written by Association Française du Gaz (AFG – French Gas Association)
